| The takin is a nearest relative of musk ox. The takin lives between 2 500 and 4 500 metres of altitude. Living in small herds, the takin gathers the summer in herds of several hundreds of heads. The meeting with a herd presents a great danger to the man for the males chargeabruptly to defend their babies. Sought by the Chinese for his skin and its flesh, the takin is an endangered species. |
